About Me

The Formative Years
Suburban Tokyo where I was born.

My name is Victor Eby and I was born in and grew up on the wonderful island of Japan. I have fond memories of when I used to sit under my father’s classroom desk as he taught both geometry and biology in the same room at a small Christian international school in the suburbs of Tokyo, Japan. My father has a great love for learning for all that can be discovered in nature (the biologist side of him) it was not uncommon for him to point out a flowering plant and ask us kids what the name of it was. “What kind of flower is that? Its a magnolia!”

My Family
My family and my brother and sister-in-laws.

I have an older sister, older brother, and a younger brother and two loving parents who raised me up in a Christian home. My family is close knit and many a Christmas, Thanksgiving, and summer vacation was spent with cousins and grandparents.

How I Became a Teacher
As time went on I decided that I wanted to teach swimming so I trained and became an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) and I had a revelation: I wanted to be a teacher! At my high school graduation I was named the “most likely to return to the school and become a teacher.” Lo and behold, I decided to take the teacher education program at Emmaus Bible College the following year and I found that I wanted to pursue teaching as a vocation.
